I know stance is frowned upon here..but I am prepared for the beating. That red STI just does it for me.

My eyes hurt.
I do like the addition of the rear fog light, though.

Stancing a rally car

How?

You know what? I’ll be the first one to say this but, I’m down for people stancing cars.
Who cares what people do to a car? They don’t do it because you like it, they do it because they like it. Being a jalop/opponaut is about loving cars. They love the car they drive, they love being a part of the car enthusiast community.
In the end isn’t that what we all want? We want more people to enjoy the things that move them. We want to share our passion with others. So, I’m not saying you have to like the look. But you should probably appreciate that they too, share our common passion. Whether you drive a lifted diesel Silverado, a slammed civic or anything in between. We all just want to drive our own unique vehicles that give us a feeling of joy unlike anything else does.

I agree. Different people like different things. That’s why there are options in the car market and why there is an aftermarket. Without diversity within the car community we would all be driving the same car and that wouldn’t be very fun now would it? Although with that said, I would disprove and frown down upon unsafe mods like extremely cambered wheels decreasing the contact patch or hacked together suspension mods.

Agree. I’m ok with it and would probably do it given the chance. As long as it’s a safe car (no stretched tires), I’m cool with it.

Like lifting a touring car. Wat.
![]() 08/21/2015 at 00:47 |

Normally, I agree with you. But with stance, it takes one seemingly minor imperfection in the road to compromise the tires, endangering everyone nearby.

How.
![]() 08/21/2015 at 00:52 |

Right. Someone on oppo posted an Instagram link of some guys Honda Civic page where he had multiple pictures from multiple occasions of him on the side of the road, because his tire came off the bead.

Not much different than a lifted truck with mudders as a daily. Unpractical, yes, but to each his own I guess.

Stance/ flush are great for the look and I really like it, but when you debead tires every other day, you might have too much stretch.

Can’t be more dangerous than one of those meth heads with pallets stacked 25 high in a rusted out 1975 ford f100, swaying all over the place on the freeway.

I'm not afraid to admit I'm attracted to this. This is a good level. Any lower and any more camber, hell no.

At least he got BBS rims doe
![]() 08/21/2015 at 01:31 |

Right?!? Makes no sense. I don’t understand why someone would want a car designed to go off road, to rub the asphalt. I mean, everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, but I think it's weird that people do that.

If only it was on some deep dish wheels.. Looks pretty good.

How!?

The problem with stance is not that it isn’t neat looking, it’s that it is dangerous. I have zero problem with people turning cars into actual art that they trailer everywhere, but please don’t drive that crap on the road.
Also, cars that are bagged so they’re normal-height when being driven and sitting on the ground when parked are kind of cool. It’s like a modern-day lowrider.
Also, lowriders are okay because they drive really slow to show off their rides. They may obstruct traffic, but they’re not putting anyone at risk of death. Stancebros do this to their cars and then drive like maniacs.

Stance can be pretty fantastic, but my problem here is with the car that was used. The STi is supposed to be a rally inspired road car. Now I realize that 99.97% of owners will never take the chance to throw gravel with their STi (it’s the off road capable SUV of cars in that sense), but this just seems to spit in the face of Old Man Subaru.
But, hey, fuck me. Like what you like, dude.

Which reminds me of my drive to get one. It was going to be a second car because I knew it was wholly unsuitable for DD duty. The only reason I’d want one that could be driven on the road is because that would be the easiest way to get it to/from trails, which is really the only times I’d drive it aside from keeping it from sitting too long. I don’t understand people that exclusively drive them on roads...

Where?

needs to go lower , you can still see the tyres at top of rims

Edit:
They love the car they cant drive anymore.

Part of me feels like the first part of stanc-ing an STI should be shedding the wing. “But how will everyone know it’s not just a wrx?” Well, you sort of negated everything that makes it an STI from a performance standpoint when you stanced it so really not even a WRX or STI now but your own creature.
But see till, the lack of wing makes it look lower and less top heavy, thus adding to stance feels.

Awesome, another Subaru that can barely clear a manhole cover, much less a gravel driveway.

True.

I’m with you on that. You could have a “free car” with the gas and tire savings, of not driving it everyday. And you would have more places to park and fresher tires for the weekend trails/ mudpits. I’m also one that doesn’t feel the need to show off constantly #chaintucked
![]() 08/21/2015 at 10:28 |

I’d fuck with it.

They aren’t bad. With modern tire tech, they last nearly as long, handle fine for what they are on, work fine in the snow/rain(depending on the rating), and work great if going offroad is your hobby. Plus, at $300+ a tire, buying a second set isn’t exactly a thing a lot of people can do.
